‘Innovation Hub’ in the works at prime Sunport parcel, site of recent project failures

Less than a month after plans for a $250 million-plus manufacturing facility near the Albuquerque International Sunport fell through, details have emerged on a new, multi-faceted “innovation hub” planned at the same site.

David Perez, an entrepreneur and consultant based in Santa Fe, told Albuquerque Business First he and a group of about 60 people from across New Mexico, including investors, startup founders and legislators in the state, met in Albuquerque in early June to brainstorm plans for a “New Mexico Innovation Hub.”
